brendawriter@yahoo.com My new series, The Adventures of Marian Halcombe, is being published by Book View Cafe in 2021, one novel per month beginning in January! I write science fiction and fantasy, mainly novels. Ten of my novels have been published. My recent novels are available in e-format. My latest novel A Most Dangerous Woman is available now on Serial Box! (Click on the picture to the left.) The previous novel, Doors of Death and Life, was published by Tor Books in May 2000, to generally favorable reviews. It was a sequel to How Like a God, which was published in March 1997. I have a number of other novels to come. I also write short stories and occasional non-fiction. I have a story in Patrick Nielsen Hayden's anthology Starlight 3. My short story, "Below, Between, Above" was published in a new anthology, How Beer Saved the World. Click on "LOOK INSIDE" to read my story in its entirety. Laura Anne Hill created a Promotional trailer for the book. I have a story in Witch Way to the Mall. I blog every week at the Book View Cafe Blog. Check out the Book View Cafe Bookstore Every now and then I teach "Writing F&SF" at the Writer's Center in Bethesda, MD. I turn up at a lot of Science Fiction conventions. Lance Oszko gave me a photograph of me at the World Fantasy Convention in 1995. Jane Jewell took a photograph of my old college roommate, Laurie Mann, and me at Boskone. I volunteer for the Science Fiction Writers of America. Recently I produced a whimsical diagram urging members to run for office within the organization. I knit and hang out with local knitters. I paint walls, furniture, and water colors. I live in a cottage a the edge of a forest with my husband Larry, the computer geek who built this web page. We renovated the kitchen in 1996 and the master bath in 2002. We are renovating the guest bath in 2010. The garden is steadily devouring the lawn, and Larry built a stone terrace. As a girl, I attended the American School of Vientiane, Laos. Samples
